It is an undeniable fact that profit depends on the demand. Not every day, week, or month that passes is the same. It varies and depends a lot on the season. Many people are making a lot of profit out of the current season, COVID-19 and many other crises.
While huge companies kept on firing their staff claiming COVID-19 has slumped their revenue, others kept on reducing their workers’ remunerations. At the same time, many self-employed people who depend on tuition fees and taxi fees have already almost lost their income. All of them are in great need of help from everyone around them to make ends meet.
This is the situation in the Maldives; it is critical while we have more serious cases around the world. Millions are dying out of hunger. Missiles are orphaning little children. People are being killed for no reason and children are deprived of education.
The way to make the most profit out of this situation is helping the affected physically and by giving charity in abundance. Different people in different parts of the world are helping them in different ways. It is through mutual help that we all can stand up again.
Though help is necessary it is difficult. Reaching them is difficult. Even if we reach them, an individuals’ donation will be like a drop of water, which might perish before it is utilized. Hence, we need to donate collectively.
There are many organizations working on helping people in different difficult situations. They collect donations from donors and deliver the aid to the needy accordingly. This is probably the best way to donate. I will mention a few ways you can donate the needy without any inconveniency, inshaAllah.
This way you can earn a reward which will never perish. In fact, your donations will be saved for you. It will be reimbursed multiplied when you need help the most, inshaAllah.
When you donate, remember:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Protect yourself from hell-fire even by giving a piece of date as charity.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing. (Quran 2:261)
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There is no day on which the people get up but two angels come down and one of them says, ‘O Allaah, give in compensation to the one who spends (in charity),’ and the other says, ‘O Allaah, destroy the one who withholds.’”
