Click here if you wish to watch a video version, or here for the audio version of the post. Otherwise, keep on reading 🙂

There might come a time when you would like to change your default book reader for your Books app. For example, you might want to change from the default preview PDF reader to Adobe Acrobat Reader and vice versa.

To do that, you have to find a PDF file. Once you find the PDF file,

  1. Right click and select “get info”.
It will popup a dialog box with lots of information. Find “open with” option from the dialog box.
  2. Drop down “open with” and select the app.

From there you are selecting the app that you prefer to read your PDFs. And you have to apply the changes to all the PDF files available in your system, by clicking the “Change All..” button.

  1. Click “Change All…”

Now you will be able to open any PDF with the preferred pdf reader, within Books as well as from any folder or finder of the computer.

All your highlights will be available across devices.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope to see you again, inshaAllah.
